Gigantic Digital is committed to making quality, first-run independent films available to everyone, everywhere, anytime. Throughout the history of independent film distribution, cinemas exhibiting ‘indie’ films have been so few and far between that they’ve been out of reach for most Americans. Even those lucky enough to have a local art house cinema often find that films come and go so quickly that it’s impossible to keep track or to keep up. Their only alternative is to wait for the DVD or hope that it will be available one day through their local cable TV or satellite provider.

The bigger problem is that only a tiny percentage of independent films are ever released at all. The cost and stakes involved in traditional film distribution are just too high for film companies to take a chance on unknown filmmakers, films without high-profile festival pedigrees or films without movie stars. The next Spike Lee, Robert Rodriguez and Michael Moore are out there, but it's next to impossible for them to ascend from anonymity. (Not to mention all of the women who are habitually missing from any such list!) The launch of Gigantic Digital changes all that. Employing the latest digital video technologies, our goal is to even the playing field for independent filmmakers. We’ll be broadening the reach of high quality indie films of all genres, budgets and subject matter, raising the profile of this exciting, visionary art form and that of its creators.
