FAQ
What if I buy a ticket and the movie doesn’t play or it plays poorly?
PLEASE, before buying a ticket, click the ‘Try Me First’ link on any film page. If you find that full-screen streaming is not optimal, it’s more than likely caused by one of the following:
1) You are on a shared network and others in your home or office are draining your own available bandwidth by downloading large files, streaming music or even watching a film on Gigantic Digital. Make them stop! Or, let them have their fun and watch your film a little later. After all, every ticket you purchase at Gigantic Digital entitles you to unlimited viewing of that film for three full days!
2) You are connected wirelessly. Some wireless connections will work just fine with Gigantic Digital while others may not. Try connecting directly to your modem or router.
3) You have a lower-end, low-cost broadband service. If this is the case, upgrade today so you can enjoy Gigantic Digital and all of the wonderful new things that are coming just around the corner.
4) You’re still on dial-up. Come on, seriously. Get with the program!
What if I’m having a problem purchasing a ticket or accessing my film?
If you have a problem with our payment system or with any other aspect of the site, please let us know immediately and we’ll do everything we can to resolve your issue.
Do I need any special hardware or software to watch movies on Gigantic Digital?
No and no. We stream our films using Adobe’s Flash technology which is already installed on nearly every computer on the planet. There *is* a *new* version of Flash that you may want to download but it’s not necessary. And as long as your computer is relatively new, you’ll have all the horsepower you’ll need.
Do I need a broadband connection?
Yes! And the better your connection, the better your viewing experience will be. That’s because our streaming technology tests your connection and delivers the best possible quality stream based upon your available bandwidth, so please close any other open browser and any applications that are running before you start your film.
Why do I have to pay $2.99 to watch these movies? Can’t I watch them for free on YouTube or some other free website?
The feature films available on Gigantic Digital are first-run films meaning that they are having their first exposure to the public. They’ll eventually be available for purchase on DVD and you may one day see them on your cable or satellite system but at the moment, they can only be seen in movie theaters or right here on Gigantic Digital. Plus, YouTube and the others stream their films at very low quality while Gigantic Digital is committed to providing you with the best possible viewing experience – even at full screen.
OK, but why only $2.99? Aren’t these movies any good?
We think these movies are wonderful, and so do many film critics. But we’re doing something entirely new and so, even though we’re sparing no expense to stream these films at the highest possible quality, we recognize that some filmgoers will need an extra incentive to try us out. And by the way, most other sites and virtually every free site force you watch commercials either before and/or during the film. We will never make you sit through a commercial.
How can I submit my film for consideration?
We’d be delighted to screen your film both for acquisition purposes and for inclusion in Gigantic Digital’s Free Stuff section. Please send a DVD of your film along with any supporting information – and full contact information – to:
Gigantic Releasing
59 Franklin Street
Suite 401
New York, NY 10013
We’d be happy to return the DVD if you include a self-addressed, stamped envelope with your submission.
